1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar browser storage (including localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB) are pieces of data a website keeps in your browser to remember preferences, consent choices, progress or a signed-in session.

2. Strictly necessary storage (no consent needed)

playfull.theme — remembers your light/dark mode choice. Kept until you clear it.

playfull.consent — remembers your cookie-banner decision so we do not ask again. Kept 12 months.

playfull.authHint, playfull.profile.* and Firebase Authentication storage — used only when you create or use an account, to keep the signed-in session and your chosen profile details. Kept until sign-out, account deletion or clearing site data, depending on the item.

playfull.sigils, playfull.lang.* and playfull.intro — remember optional puzzle progress, an event-language choice and whether the homepage intro already played. Puzzle/language choices remain until cleared; the intro is session-only.

playfull.previewNotice and playfull.demo.dismissed — preview/demo notices only. The preview choice remains in this browser; the demo banner choice is session-only.

playfull.mockdb — demo mode only: stores your simulated bookings locally so the demo works end-to-end. Never leaves your browser.

These are required for the site to function as you asked it to, so they are set without consent (ePrivacy, strictly-necessary exemption).

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you click “Accept all”, we may load a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count visits and see which pages help people book. No analytics runs if you choose “Essential only”. As of the date above, no analytics provider is active on this site.

4. Third parties

The embedded Google Map on the Contact page loads with the page; it may use Google storage and receives technical request data. Firebase Authentication uses browser storage when you choose an account. When you submit a protected form, score-based Google reCAPTCHA loads as a security control regardless of the analytics-cookie choice; it may read or set Google storage and receives technical request and interaction signals. PlayFull does not use it for advertising or analytics. If you prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, use the phone or email alternative shown by the form. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms apply. WhatsApp opens only when you choose its link. No analytics, advertising or online-payment provider is currently active.

5. Managing cookies

You can change your choice anytime by clearing site data in your browser (the banner will re-appear), and every browser lets you inspect and delete stored data per site.

6. Changes

If we add a tool that uses new cookies, this page and the consent banner are updated first, before anything is set.
